INTEGRATED METHODOLOGIES FOR THE KNOWLEDGE AND REGENERATION OF THE PAESTUM SITE THE ROLE OF THE NATURE BETWEEN THE TEMPLES AND THE SEA

The essay intends to begin a serious consideration about the ancient city of Poseidonia and its role in the landscape of Sele, intending to adopt a more correct relationship between innovative technologies and traditional theoretical and operational knowledge, and intending to research forms of interaction between the two possible approaches.Starting from these assumptions of reflection, both in the field survey operations and in the synthesis phases of the interpretation/representation of the acquired data, the study intends to concentrate on the bond that condenses and perpetuates itself in the historical landscape of Paestum between the Templar architectures, the visible structures of the ancient city and the rich vegetation of the Mediterranean scrubland that contains and integrates them.To interpret this environmental unicum, in which the dialogue between the temples and the sea is modulated by the flora of the park, the dune oasis, the cultivated fields, the pine forest, scanned along a mythological path that reaches the beach of the ancient city of Poseidonia, a methodology is experimented which, synergistically making use of the accuracy of innovative instruments for the integrated survey – in particular of the complementarity between TLS and SAPR technologies – and of the peculiar comparative attitude of digital photomodelling methods, intends to engage profitably in the traditional and interpretative process to obtain the necessary knowledge for the formulation of hypotheses for the enhancement and regeneration of the entire context.
