In this article, the results of acoustic trials performed by joining cladding systems constituted by wooden planks by the means of by steel or wood plate connectors bolted rigidly are presented. Those connectors are, in turn, rigidly bolted to steel plates of greater mass working as resonators, or to containers filled with sand working as dampers. Both configurations produce the effect of modifying the overall acoustic response of a cladding system. The solution is aimed to open the possibility of variating the overall mass of the system and its compound rigidity. This possibility in turn makes possible to tune the acoustic response of a wooden cladding system without entailing a modification of its layout. A foresight of the consequence deriving from this strategy is here attempted, with particular reference to the situations of building rehabilitation or re-characterization.
