Sustainable Mediterranean Construction
In the last decades, an excessive use of water – mainly directed towards the economic growth – has been registered, most of the times without taking into consideration the negative consequences. Thus, such resource became almost “taken for granted”, which made it more vulnerable than ever.
Therefore, there is a necessity to re-interpret water heritage, its numerous advantages and its functions for the development of the human habitat, to understand the risks – as indicated by Goal 6 of the Agenda 2030 – and to transfer the wide “invisible” knowledge through new models of enjoyment.
Through the research report, the paper illustrates the critical-analytical overview and cognitive survey of the solutions and experiences of water fruition and valorisation at a national and international level. The aim is to encourage the enhancement of the water heritage, and to outline strategies and practices for the design of the interaction user-water heritage oriented towards inclusive fruition.
