The research focuses on the study of the potential for implementing bioclimatic solutions in historic centers with compact urban fabric, specifically in El Raval neighborhood of Barcelona, which concentrates situations of residential vulnerability in a heritage environment. The contribution provides a methodology for selecting the most priority cases and areas, based on existing data from previous studies. In addition, bioclimatic solutions are proposed to improve the existing built stock, specifically adapted to the context and existing housing typologies. Finally, the potential for implementing these solutions in the current urban fabric is studied to provide options for improving energy poverty situations. Based on the results, it is proven that bioclimatic solutions are an effective measure to alleviate the economic effort of households in the area by reducing their energy bill, especially their application in combination with standard minimum interventions to improve insulation and windows. However, in households below the monetary poverty line, bioclimatic solutions act as a complement to reduce energy demand.
