Abstract

The objective of this study is to identify actions that contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for the islands of the Sicilian Region. The study was carried out as part of the GR.ITA research agreement between the University of Granada and the University of Palermo, with the aim of analysing those Mediterranean territories that help biodiversity to thrive with measurable improvements in environmental, social and economic performance. Specifically, the actions planned for the decarbonisation of the island of Pantelleria are analysed, investigating some possible solutions to increase the robustness and resilience of buildings, as a necessary challenge also in terms of conservation and/or retrofitting of existing buildings. The study delves into the robustness and resilience of buildings, both through a documentary analysis of the concepts and in experimental terms with investigations on sample buildings.
