Biomimicry1 studied natural strategies and applies them in artificial systems in a variety of disciplines, including architecture and design. Biomimicry innovations spanning many possibilities: them may include materials or organizational strategies of a system. Among the various fields of investigation, there is the functional morphogenesis. The shape of natural organisms is not random, but emerges2 from a series of parameters.
According to evolutionary theories, they adapted themself to external and internal parameters producing bodies’ shapes, and the water is one of the parameters essential to life. Evolution3, in thousands of years, have shaped the plant and animal structures forms in function of water, favouring strategies and technologies according to different climates and specific objectives.
Many cases involve: optimization systems for the collection of water, where this is in short supply, systems for the protection from water, where this abounds, strategy for water purification, exploitation of physical phenomena related to the characteristics of the fluids, for mention only the main ones.
