Environment, artificial or natural, influences the emotions and behavior of the people living in it. At the same time the artificial character of urban infrastructures is supposed to be a cause of many psychological and mental disorders. In combination with the increasing distance between people and natural environment it is important to study the impact of the built space in psychology and behavior on the users of space. Color and light are two significant factors that affect the perception of the environment and also have a major role in forming ambience in interior spaces. Nevertheless, the impact these factors could have in a person’s physical and mental state, is most of the times neglected. This paper indicates briefly the importance of color and light in the creation of a spatial experience, and how this is achieved.
