Abstract

In the light of the evidences that testify to the dramatic current situation, due to the acceleration of climate chang e and the consequent impacts it is interesting to investigate on what strategies are being deployed to make cities resilient. It is necessary to aim at an urban and building development capable of adapting to any situation, where design, construction and management actions must acqu ire a fundamental role Resorting to technical solutions with a higher or lower technological level is the way to make cities resilient to flooding, as flooding resilient cities teach, both those present in the Mediterranean area and those outside. A further step requires the effort to focus attention on the scale of the building to understand and refine the construction techniques and to use the most sui table technology to make the building adaptive to water. Among the most interesting solutions emerges the amphibious building, an experimentation in the design field that is spreading, also feasible in the Italian context.
