Ductility, or deformability, plays a key role in supporting loads and preventing cracks that inevitably lead to structural damage. This paper proposes a relative ductility factor as a quantitative tool, derived from an elasticitydamage coupling model. It is expressed as a simple function of a single parameter—the damage coefficient—obtained from stressstrain curve characteristics. A ductility-fragility diagram is presented to assess the deformability of a given material. The study examines four different cement-soil materials with varying clay and gravel weight fractions. Furthermore, ductility is analyzed according to cement content (0%, 4%, 7%, and 10% by mass). These values are compared to the relative ductility factor of concrete, used here as a reference material for building applications. Results show that ductility decreases with the gravel fraction in the soil material and with the addition of cement. In contrast, the relative ductility factor increases with clay fraction, which is quantified to enhance accuracy in deformability analysis. The relative ductility factor, used in conjunction with a ductility diagram, serves as an index for classifying cement-soil materials based on deformability, and we believe this approach can be extended to other heterogeneous materials with similar behavior.
